Heather earned her Master of Arts degree from Mercer University with a focus in marriage and family therapy in 2011. She moved to Tennessee in 2013 to work toward becoming a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and has worked in a variety of mental health and substance abuse treatment settings including residential treatment for co-occurring disorders, in-home family counseling, and outpatient treatment. She works with her clients to establish a therapeutic relationship based on trust and understanding before processing emotions and setting desired goals.
Throughout her training and career, Heather has assisted clients with anxiety, depression, grief, relationship conflicts, boundary-setting and maintenance, life transitions, various forms of trauma and abuse, substance abuse/recovery issues and more. Heather enjoys working with adults ages 18 and older for individual, couples, and family sessions.
Heather practices Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral-Informed Therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness practice in her sessions.
Heather is a LGBTQIO+ ally and celebrates racial and cultural diversity.
