Dr. Shepherd, a Psychologist, earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from Marshall University in 2018. She completed her APA accredited internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Cherokee Health Systems (CHS) in Knoxville, TN. During her two years of training at CHS, Dr. Shepherd worked with multidisciplinary treatment teams serving a diverse population with a variety of behavioral health needs. She received training in integrated care which focuses on a biopsychosocial approach to healthcare addressing the whole person by blending behavioral health services with primary care. Dr.
Shepherd’s training also included a focus on health psychology. Utilizing evidence-based practices, primarily Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dr. Shepherd offers services to individuals experiencing anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, and addiction.
